Description: Leapin’ Lizards! Hard to believe it’s been 40 years since the darling red-headed orphan debuted on Broadway, and that she took so many hard knocks along the way. It was lyricist and director Martin Charnin’s idea to make a family musical based on the famous comic strip—just about everyone on Broadway thought he was crazy. Only when Mike Nichols stepped in as producer was the show saved, and the trials and tribulations paid off in a Tony Award-winning bonanza. We’ll include all of the songs from Charnin and Charles Strouse’s terrific score including the iconic “Tomorrow,” “Maybe,” “It’s a Hard-Knock Life,” “Easy Street” and “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile.” Annie’s story—and our back story of this feel-good musical’s creation—is filled with hope that the “sun’ll come out tomorrow.”
