Description: "Witness to Revolution: One Doctor's Story of the Xinhai Revolution" is a one-hour documentary about Dr. Shields, a medical missionary who went to China and wound up in the midst of a revolution that would end a dynasty. The film uses Dr. Shields' personal letters, journals, and hundreds of photographs to recreate his journey through early 1900's China; telling his story of aiding the Red Cross and supporting their effort to modernize with the creation of the Republic of China.
